Completely clean foil. Acceptable at all SWA recycling centers.

Appliances 
Metal units with or without freon only. Acceptable at Grapevine Road & South Berkeley Recycling Centers Only.

Antifreeze
Used antifreeze that has not been mixed with any oil is acceptable at the Grapevine Road and South Berkeley Recycling Centers. Antifreeze is acceptable regardless of age or manufacture. There is a 5 gallon limit per visit. We cannot accept any antifreeze from commercial businesses. Please see the recycling attendant for disposal location.

Batteries
Lead-acid: Car, lawnmower and boat batteries are accepted at the Grapevine Road & South Berkeley Recycling Centers. 
Ni-Cd: Rechargeable batteries found typically in power tools, cordless and cell phones, battery-powered toys, and camcorders are accepted at the Grapevine Road & South Berkeley Recycling Centers. Must be placed in a plastic bag. 
Dry Cell: Non -rechargeable batteries such as AA, AAA, 9V, C, D batteries are accepted at the Grapevine Road & South Berkeley Recycling Centers. Must be placed in a plastic bag.

Bicycles 
Any manufacture, age or condition are acceptable at the Grapevine Road & South Berkeley Recycling Centers.

Bi-Metal Cans
Completely empty contents. Acceptable at all SWA recycling centers.

Books 
Please deposit books into the yellow Planet Aid container at the Grapevine Road & South Berkeley Recycling Centers. School yearbooks are not acceptable.

Boots
Any manufacture, age or condition. Please deposit boots into the yellow Planet Aid container at the Grapevine Road & South Berkeley Recycling Centers.

Brown Glass Bottles and Jars 
Completely empty contents. Acceptable at all SWA recycling centers.

Brush 
There is a $7.00 processing fee to accept a truck load of brush or $1.00 processing fee for smaller quantities. Cash only, checks or credit cards are not accepted. Brush must be less than 6 inches thick and shorter than 10 feet. Acceptable at Grapevine Road & South Berkeley Recycling Centers Only.

Acceptable at all SWA recycling centers. Please separate from all other paper at Grapevine Road Recycling Center.

Acceptable at Grapevine Road & South Berkeley Recycling Centers Only. Please remove all holiday decorations and wiring and return the tree to its natural state. Please contact Berkeley County SWA for special curbside collection events.

Clear Glass Bottles 
Acceptable at all SWA recycling centers. Please empty contents, remove caps and rinse thoroughly. Not Accepted: Ceramics, plate window glass, drinking glasses and light bulbs. Including these items can ruin an entire load of glass!

Clothes 
Please deposit clothes into the yellow Planet Aid container at the Grapevine Road & South Berkeley Recycling Centers.

Coats 
Please deposit coats into the yellow Planet Aid container at the Grapevine Road & South Berkeley Recycling Centers.

Compact Fluorescent Lamps 
Acceptable at Grapevine Road & South Berkeley Recycling Centers Only. Must be placed in a plastic bag. Do not recycle if glass is broken. Long tube fluorescent bulbs are not acceptable.

Food Waste
Accepted at Grapevine Road Recycling Center and the South Berkeley Recycling Center Only. Participants are encourage to utilize a reusable sealable container for the transportation of the food waste to a recycling center. All food waste must be removed from its manufactured packaging. Examples of acceptable food waste include meat, poultry, fish, bones, eggs, table scraps, fruits, vegetables, bread, pasta, grains, coffee grounds and tea bags. The acceptable food waste can be comingled together.

Accepted at Grapevine Road Recycling Center and the South Berkeley Recycling Center.

The Grapevine Road and the South Berkeley Recycling Centers accept any plastic item marked #3, #4, #5 and #7. These items can be mixed together in a customer provided bag of any color. Styrofoam is not acceptable at any location. Items must be placed in a plastic bag.

Acceptable at South Berkeley Recycling Center only. There is a $10.00 fee for each TV or domputer monirot.  This includes units with CRTs, LCDs, Plasma TVs and Projection TVs.

Acceptable oil includes engine oil, hydraulic oil and transmission fluid regardless of age or manufacture.
